Samadhan — Providing Solutions to the Challenges of India
Actionable and Suggestive Steps for Central and State Governments
1. Active Listening & Grassroots Empowerment
Be an active listener to the problems of the common man by engaging grassroots resource persons in rural areas and urban slums. Empower local governance structures—such as Gram Panchayats, urban local bodies, and municipal bodies—making them the eye, ear, and mouth of state governance to create an enabling, proactive ecosystem.
2. Inclusive & Sustainable Local Governance
Formulate effective local governance policies that foster an inclusive society representing all sections of people across religion, caste, class, and race—building a socially cohesive, financially empowering, and sustainable community.
3. Local Employment, Skilling & Self-Reliance
Frame policies to support local employment, skilling, and upskilling through area-specific development programs. Discourage outsourcing work orders to ensure local unemployed youth are engaged directly, generating markets for local products and making Gram Panchayats and urban local bodies truly self-reliant.
4. Bottom-Up Development: Villages as Growth Epicenters
Make villages the epicenter of growth through a bottom-up approach by establishing state-of-the-art government education and healthcare centers in rural hubs.
5. Dignified Rural Housing & Controlling Forced Urban Migration
Commendable policy initiatives, such as the Telangana State Government providing ₹5 lakh alongside construction materials (sand) under the Indiramma Yojana for pucca houses, stand ahead of central and state allocations under PM Awas Yojana (where assistance was reduced from ₹1.30 lakh to ₹1.20 lakh in Odisha).
💡 Impact: Providing robust facilities and local jobs ensures migration to urban centers becomes a choice rather than a necessity, directly curbing urban overpopulation and improving law and order.
🌱 6. Heavy Investment in Agriculture & Farmer Relief
A major push for a renewed Green Revolution requires heavy investment in agriculture and allied sectors to generate meaningful youth employment. Targeted loan waivers for financially challenged farmers are essential to halt farmer distress and prevent tragic suicides.
⚠️ 7. Strengthening MGNREGA & Addressing the Global Hunger Index
Providing a massive boost to MGNREGA-based employment is critical to ensuring at least three meals a day for financially vulnerable families.
🚨 Wake-Up Call: India ranking 105th out of 127 countries in the Global Hunger Index (score of 27.3 – classified as ‘SERIOUS’) requires immediate, decisive policy action over celebration.
